Change We Can Believe In
Jul. 1st, 2008 01:53 pmAnd here is a quote from 1971 film "Duck you, sucker" with my comments in parentheses:
The people who read the books (that would be Obama and his coastal elites) go to the people who can't read the books (and that, of course, are bitter rednecks, who cling to guns or religion), the poor people, and say, "We have to have a change." (change we can believe in!) So, the poor people make the change, ah? And then, the people who read the books, they all sit around the big polished tables (in the White House), and they talk and talk and talk and eat and eat and eat, eh? But what has happened to the poor people? They're dead! (Well, may be not quite dead... But in the same shithole, only slightly worse) That's your revolution. (or democratic elections) Shhh... So, please, don't tell me about revolutions! And what happens afterwards? The same f***ing thing starts all over again! (in four years)
